The grim and gritty Crossbow Crusade takes aim at Xbox

There are many games which have allowed us the opportunity to become the most feared of monster hunters – the brilliant Monster Hunter: World, for one – but not many arm you with just a crossbow. As the title suggests though, that’s exactly the case in Crossbow Crusade on Xbox.

Priced at a mere £4.19 and coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S thanks to the ChiliDog Interactive team, Crossbow Crusade will put you in the grim and gritty setting of the Dead Kingdom. Following the life and times of a legendary monster hunter, it’ll be up to you to grab the nearest trench coat, and take aim with the most trusty of crossbows in order to clear a dying world of hordes of monsters. And it looks like you’ll be using that same crossbow to create platforms as well.

Crossbow Crusade is delivered through a 1990s styled pixel art design, promising responsive controls (we should hope so too!), a rewarding fighting system and the chance to go up against some seriously challenging enemies. Basically put, if you know how to handle yourself in a run-and-gunner, the chance to prove yourself is here in Crossbow Crusade.

It certainly all looks nice enough, particularly if you’re in the market for a new pixelated platformer, so head on over to the Xbox Store and fire the shots required of an Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S download right now.

And if you’re not sold? Well, our full review of Crossbow Crusade is in the works. We’ll let you know if it hits the spot.

Game Description:

You are the legendary monster hunter on a mission to survive the slaughter through the Dead Kingdom. Armed only with a trusty crossbow and old-fashioned trench coat, you have to reach the bowels of a dying country riddled with hordes of blood-soaking monsters. These scoundrels have to be hunted down! In Crossbow Crusade you will have everything needed from instant platforming classics — challenging enemies, hard and rewarding fight system, 90’s-style pixel art and responsive controls. All these features make for a great platforming experience suitable for new gamers and genre veterans alike!
